The Back Story:

Point Cabrillo

Point Cabrillo lighthouse, situated between Cape Mendocino and Point Arena, was established in 1909.  The lighthouse is an active aid to navigation and the light is still maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard.  It is owned by the California State Parks and managed by the Point Cabrillo Lightkeepers Association. The light station has undergone considerable restoration since 1998. The light was automated in 1973.
About The Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vaction sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appearquarterly in the Keeper’s Log a publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
