The Back Story:
Legendary Surffing Mecca
he sight of a Woodie wagon parked on the chaparral-covered bluffs overlooking San Onofre State Beach says all there is to say about Southern California’s laid-back beach scene. Three-and-a-half miles of sandy coastline in northern San Diego County draws swimmers and surfers of all ages.
Beach-goers can use one of six beach access trails to reach San Onofre’s popular surf breaks, including Old Man’s, The Point, and well-known Trestles Beach, inaccessible by vehicle.
About the Artist: Jim Krogle, a graduate of Chouinard Art Institute, has enjoyed an extensive career as an American Illustrator. He now follows his true passion painting the beach and surf scene he grew up with. Visit www.jimkrogle.com.
