The Back Story:
Absecon
The Absecon Light is a coastal lighthouse located in the north end of Atlantic City, New Jersey overlooking Absecon Inlet. It is the tallest lighthouse in the state of New Jersey, standing at 171 feet high, and is the third tallest masonry lighthouse in the United States. It was first lit January 15, 1857 and deactivated as a navigational aid in 1933, though it still shines its light
About the Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper's Log, a publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
