The Back Story:
Little River Lighthouse
The first lighthouse at LIttle River was built in 1847. It was a granite and stone tower attached to a stone and granite keeper's house. It was a near twin to Prospect Harbor Lighthouse in Prospect Harbor, Maine. The old stone and granite keeper's house was demolished in 1888 and replaced with the two story wooden Victorian style keeper's house that stands here today.
About the Artist: Paul M. Bradley Jr., an architect by profession, began drawing lighthouses after a New England vacation sparked his interest in the structures. His drawings appear quarterly in the Keeper's Log, a publication of the U.S. Lighthouse Society (www.uslhs.org).
