The Back Story:
Manatee
Manatees are large, aquatic mammals with bodies that taper to a flat, paddle-shaped tail. They have two flippers, with three to four nails on each flipper. Their head and face are wrinkled with whiskers on the snout. The closest relative animal is the Elephant. Manatees can be found in shallow rivers, estuaries, saltwater bays, and coastal areas. In the U.S., they are found along the south eastern coast from Florida to as far west as Texas and as far north as Massachusetts.
About the Artist: Richard Timm has been creating wildlife masterpeices for over 50 years. Turning his back on the security of a successful career in commercial art in 1971 he decided to devote his considerable talent to his former avocation of wildlifeart. He works in many mediums, but loves Acrylic.
