The Eagle
The Noble Eagle is seen as a symbol of power and prestige. Eagle also has a strong connection to peace. This species is still plentiful in the Pacific Northwest. They have long been a source of artistic inspiration for both traditional and contemporary Native artists.
The closeness that Native American people share with the land and water is a major part of their cultural identity and how they view themselves. The resource-rich environment of their land, with its abundance of food and wood makes it possible for the Indian people, in the past & present, to devote time to their elaborate social and ceremonial lives.
