White Tailed Deer Doe
The Back Story:
A Doe and Her Fawn
White-tailed deer form small groups for much of the year; one group being a mother doe and her fawn. In each liter the female (doe) births 1 to 3 fawn who will stay with her for most of the year. When it’s time for her to feed, the Doe will hide her young in nearby brush for up to four hours while she grazes. The female is usually a solid tan or brown while the young have spots. The Fawn are weened from their mother when it’s time for her to mate once more.
