The Back Story:
White Tailed Deer (Natures Shy Guy)
White-tailed Deer” so called, for the white underside of the deers tail, which is held erect like a flag when the animal is alarmed or running. It’s 4-10 inches in length. Many large animals, including humans, use trails made by deer through the brush and woods. Deer are extremely cautious animals with a keen sense of smell and hearing. The White-tailed deer can run as fast as 40 miles per hour. Even though they are the shiest of the deer family, they remain the most popular large game animal through most of the United States.
