The Back Story:
Palmetto Palm
Known as The Palmetto Palm (or Swamp Cabbage Palm) it belongs to the Arecaceae Species, there are15 species of palmetto palm native to the southern United States, Cuba, The Bahamas, Turks & Caicos Islands. The heart of the new fronds, also known as the terminal bud, gives the tree its "cabbage" name. The palm can reach up to 50ft. in height with fronds around 12ft. in length and 6ft. in width, which forms a 18ft. canopy.
