The Back Story:
The Art Behind Bait Boats
Harbors along the coasts of the world, flourish with these floating, live-bait markets, similar to Art’s Bait boat, where fisherman can purchase their stock of live bait for the day’s adventure. Beginning their day at the end of most other fisherman, the artisans of these boats have developed a special skill of spotting the iridescent glow of bait fish schools as they echo the moonlight beneath the surface of the ocean. With scoop-nets, these schools of tiny fish are captured and placed into holding tanks aboard the bait boat. The boat heads back into the harbor as the early morning approaches, to sell their catch to the many enthusiastic sport fisherman, beginning their day.
His philosophy, summed up by Patrick de Gayardon, the great French sky surfer who said, “live your dreams, don’t dream your life away!”
