In Native American Art, symbols are often combined, embellished or abstracted. This design appears to be an imagined bird combining a turkey vulture and an eagle. Both these birds are considered masters of the sky. The eagle is considered a carrier of prayers. Many Indian Nations honor these birds as possessing courage, wisdom and a special connection to the Creator.
